Review: Recipe for a Husband

Recipe for a Husband is a historical romance novella by author Anne Greene. I wanted to read this novella because it seemed like a fun read. Did it meet my expectations? Yes!

Nessie McDonald is seeking a husband to help work the lighthouse. Could the man she rescued be her knight in shining armor, just the man she was looking for? Perhaps, although she does advertise for a husband in the local Bar Harbor Times. People say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. So there are several tempting recipes dispersed throughout the book that Nessie fixes for each prospective husband(s) to be.

I like the quote on page 27: “Jesus said to Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, ‘Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.’ And at once they followed Jesus.” “Well, I noticed Jesus said He would make them fishers of men They didn’t have to make themselves into fishers of men. Jesus did that work. He makes us what He wants us to be.”

I recommend this novella to fans of Christian romance. This would also make a great book for Seekers. I think the cover is perfect for introducing the story. The setting of this novella is Bar Harbor, Maine ~ 1940
